In Austria there will be no après-ski in its current form in the ski areas in the coming winter.
There should be no more crowded standing in bars and on terraces, food and drinks may only be consumed while sitting.
"Skiing fun, yes, but without après-ski," said Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP).
The aim is to enable safe winter tourism.
The après-ski rules are part of an overall concept for ski tourism.
As in local public transport, a mask is required at the cable cars and lifts.
In addition, skiers and snowboarders must keep a one-meter safety distance when queuing up.
Ski schools should have a maximum of ten students per group and prevent the mixing between groups, announced Tourism Minister Elisabeth Köstinger (ÖVP).
In addition, ski instructors and travel companions should also be regularly tested for the corona virus in addition to hotel employees.
In pubs it is only allowed to eat and drink at tables.
Dance or movement while standing in a confined space, on the other hand, is a risk of infection
and cannot be allowed.
Alcohol, too, may only be consumed while sitting at the table, no longer while standing at the counter.
Christmas markets should be able to take place in December, however, as they are very important for cities.
At parties in the Tyrolean ski resort of Ischgl, which is famous for its après-ski scene, many tourists, especially from Germany, were infected with the corona virus last season.
