(ANSA) - MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 24 - The Belarusian presidential administration is not required to notify the West of the date of its presidential inauguration since it is an internal matter.
This was stated by Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko.
"I think Belarusian laws don't force us to notify any Western country. It's an internal affair. All the critics seem to say the same thing: a secret or a mystery. You know, about 2,000 people, including the military, were invited to the inauguration ceremony. . It is practically impossible to keep a secret in this way, "Lukashenko said at a meeting with the Chinese ambassador to Belarus Cui Qiming.
Lukashenko described the position taken by some States towards Belarus as not very constructive.
"There is even resentment or criticism about the inauguration yesterday for not telling Poles, Lithuanians, Ukrainians, Czechs or anyone else that we were planning to organize the event," said Lukashenko.
