Research: Couples who have sex once a week are happier (Walla! News system)

Whether it's a busy schedule at work, the fatigue that comes with parenting, or other factors - the challenge of keeping fire and passion in a monogamous couple relationship can be very difficult.

Now a group of researchers has revealed what "kills" the passion between the couple the most and causes a decrease in the number of times the couple has sex.

Psychologists have dived into the sex lives of hundreds of volunteers to try to understand why their sex lives are faltering.

So it turns out that the first place on the list of reasons for the decline in sexual desire is the lack of enthusiasm, according to the London Daily Mail.

In the second place lack of time and / or lack of space, the third most important factor in the decrease in the number of times a couple has sex is the tough schedule of the couple's work, and in the fourth place the most insulting thing - "bad sex partner".

Only fifth on the list is infidelity or abuse on the part of the spouse.

Places 6 to 10 are in order: personality problems, too sticky a relationship, children, lack of effort and a desire not to remain monogamous.

Professor Manlos Apostolo from the University of Nicosia in Cyprus who conducted the study explained why it is important to identify why the relationship is fading.

In an email, he said: "Difficulties only pile up during the relationship and can cause quite a bit of pain to people. Being able to identify these difficulties is the first step before confronting them and working to improve the couple's feeling."
