In September, both consumer confidence (from 101.0 to 103.4) and business confidence improved (the composite index rose from 81.4 to 91.1). This was announced by Istat, underlining that for businesses it dates back to the fourth consecutive month, for consumers for the second consecutive month.
All components of the consumer confidence climate are estimated to increase and in particular the economic and future climate record the most marked increase passing, respectively, from 90.5 to 94.9 and from 105.6 to 109.5. Looking at companies, the improvement in confidence is widespread in all sectors, albeit with different intensities: for market services there is the most marked increase with the index rising from 75.1 to 88.8.
