The stabbing attack which took place this Friday in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, near the former premises of
left two seriously injured.
Coincidence or not, the victims are two employees of the Première Lignes Television company, a press agency and audiovisual production company, which has produced since 2011 the France 2 magazine “Cash Investigation”, presented by Élise Lucet.
Specializing in investigation and investigative journalism, the company was founded in 2006 by journalist Paul Moreira, who notably created the investigative magazine “90 minutes” on Canal +.
He was joined in 2009 by another former Canal + journalist, Luc Hermann, with whom he had worked for “90 minutes”.
Last May, the broadcast on France 5 of their documentary "Algeria my love", on Algerian youth who participated in the Hirak protest movement, had caused a quasi-diplomatic crisis with the Algerian authorities.
The company has also worked on the issue of jihadism.
On BFMTV, Paul Moreira assured that the agency had received no threats.
Moreover, the themes covered by First Lines are very diverse.
Last week, the “Big Pharma” survey, on the omnipotence of pharmaceutical companies, was watched by nearly a million viewers on Arte.
First Lines also produces "Vert de rage", surveys on environmental issues broadcast on France 5 and has also developed co-productions with the BBC, the American channel HBO and the Netflix platform.
The company has also forged partnerships with collectives and other investigative media, in particular within the framework of large collaborative investigations such as the “Panama Papers”.
