The two victims are hospitalized in "absolute urgency" without their vital prognosis being engaged.

The author of the attack fled in the metro but was arrested in the middle of the day in the Bastille district.

A vast security device was deployed in the neighborhood following the attack as well as for a suspicious package.

After analysis, it did not contain explosives, according to the prefecture.

The BRI was mobilized and dozens of police officers deployed around rue Nicolas Appert.

Thousands of students were confined to three districts in the center of the capital (3rd, 4th and 11th).

A crisis unit has been deployed at the Ministry of the Interior, around Gérald Darmanin and Prime Minister Jean Castex.
