The 9th edition of the Caccuri Literary Prize for the non-fiction section ended with the victory of the book "Atlantide. A Journey in Search of Beauty" (Feltrinelli) by Carlo and Renzo Piano.

In second place, equal merit, the other three finalist titles: "History of Marcella who was Marcello" (La Nave di Teseo) by Bianca Berlinguer, "This is not Italy" (Newton Compton) by Alan Friedman and "Odiare l hatred "(Rizzoli) by Walter Veltroni.

In Caccuri, the organizers underline in a note, the Accademia dei Caccuriani "won beauty in its broadest sense, beauty as a constant search for another possible world to be built together with the courage and participation of everyone, each one with their own contribution. Beauty can be as precious and elusive as that of the perfect city that Carlo and Renzo Piano describe through an imaginary journey by sea to the places where the great Italian architect built his works. A compass not only for architects , but for everyone. But it is also the beauty of the strength of a woman told in 'The cherry soul' (HarperCollins) by Lia Levi that won the Prize for Fiction ".

The national prosecutor Nicola Gratteri also spoke of beauty, who on 23 September was awarded the honorary citizenship of Caccuri, together with the goldsmith master Michele Affidato.

"I am convinced that another Calabria is possible, this is the message we try to give also through our work - said Gratteri during the ceremony -. We are making a positive path, which is making us grow, all together".

The proclamation of the winner was preceded by the assignment of the special "FonCarical - Alessandro Salem" Prize to Mimmo Lucano, who thanked him by concluding the presentation of his book "The outlaw" (Feltrinelli) with these words: "Politics as I understand it I mean putting yourself at the service of others. And I think that rewarding someone like me is a courageous choice ".

The evening ended with the concert by Ron, who received the Music Award.
