(ANSA) - ANCONA, 25 SEPT - It will be Valeria Mancinelli, mayor of Ancona, on behalf of the mayors of the Marche, the Marche Region and the Marche Dioceses, to offer the oil for the San Francesco lamp on the occasion of the National Celebration of San Francesco Italy set for Sunday 4 October 2020 in Assisi.
Pope Francis should visit the tomb of the saint privately on October 3, while the presence of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte is also expected for the celebration of the 4.
"It is great honor and emotion that I will access the SanFrancesco lamp in Assisi in the name of all Italian municipalities - said Mancinelli, who is also acting president of Anci Marche during the presentation of the celebration program in Ancona".
"Marche and Umbria are getting closer and closer - said the mayor of Assisi Stefania Proietti -, I will ask again for October 4th to become a national holiday again".
Present were the president of the Cem Piero Coccia, the archbishop of Ancona Osimo Angelo Spina, father Enzo Fortunato, director of the press room of the Sacred Convent of Assisi and the custodian of the Porziuncola father Massimo Travascio.
