The World Health Organization (WHO) warned this Friday that
two million deaths
from coronavirus
are
"very likely"
in the world if important collective actions are not taken against the pandemic.
"If we do not do everything possible, the number you are telling me about (two million) is not only possible but unfortunately very likely," WHO's director of emergency situations Michael Ryan told a news conference.
And he added: "If we do not continue to do more, to evolve, both in content and in the intensity of our cooperation, then yes, we will reach that number, and unfortunately even higher. The time to act is now."
For Ryan, "it's
not just about diagnosing and tracking
, not just curing, not just (applying) social distancing, not just (working on) vaccines, but doing all of that at the same time."
