Lebanon's premier-designate has given up on his post to form a new government, nearly two months after the previous executive's resignation, due to the disaster at the port of Beirut. Mustapha Adib communicated his decision in a speech on television after a long and fruitless series of talks with political forces. In spite of pressure from the international community.
