ROME - A walk at sunset in one of the most evocative places in Rome, the Baths of Caracalla, among the large mosaics and the remains of the basins, the architectural decoration, the basements and the monumental ruins, illuminated by the golden light of the first evening.

It is Caracalla Sunset, the cycle of visits that the Special Superintendence of Rome, in collaboration with Electa and Coopculture, has scheduled every Tuesday, from 29 September to 10 November.

The visit at sunset, when the bricks color the Baths of an intense pink, will allow you to visit the monument in a magical atmosphere and return to see the undergrounds and the Mithraeum, reopened for the first time after the emergency.

"An important signal to restart, in the name of a culture that has never really stopped and is now back on track at full speed - according to Special Superintendent Daniela Porro -. A unique opportunity to enjoy a site like the Terme di Caracalla, with that extra touch of magic, given by the romantic evening light ".

Groups of up to 20 people (with reservations required, at a cost of 20 euros), will be able to participate every Tuesday in the six guided tours at staggered times lasting about an hour, each of which will have a different shade of the sunset, a different experience .

"The sunset in Caracalla is a unique experience - explains Marina Piranomonte, director of the Baths of Caracalla -. The long shadows of the secular pines stretch on the high walls that are tinged with pink. It is a moment of serendipity that we want to share to visitors in this difficult autumn. The calm and solemn vertical walls change from sunset to evening lighting, restoring the charm of a perfect moment ".

The ruins of the Baths of Caracalla, which can still be admired for the considerable height of over 37 meters in many points, today give an idea of the grandeur of the spa complex.

The size of the building and the monumentality of the rooms, preserved for two floors in elevation and for three levels in the basement, allow us to imagine their splendor still today, enhanced by the sunset light.
