Only on Friday was the Ministry of Transportation presented the outline that would allow Ben-Gurion Airport to be left open even during the closure, according to which those who managed to book a flight until the closure, and there are about 5,000, can fly during the closure and throughout the holidays.

The outline states that the dates and hours of booking the flight tickets will be checked, and those who booked a flight after the closing time will not be able to redeem the flight ticket and fly abroad.

The "Israel Today" inspection reveals that there is not expected to be dedicated enforcement for two reasons - the first is that the flight tickets do not state the time of booking the ticket, and thus those who are supposed to enforce the decision encounter a situation where they can not really know when the flight was booked.

The second reason is that in an inspection with the Airports Authority, the Population and Immigration Authority and other parties, it has not yet been decided who will enforce the closure, and who are supposed to enforce it are the police officers stationed at roadblocks.

The responsibility lies largely with the consumer, and of course it is a violation of the law, but from a check we made on the international ordering sites Skyscanner and Kayak and on Israeli ordering sites, we managed to reach the last stage of the ordering process on Saturday, more than 30 hours after the closure came into force.

A warning appeared on Israeli websites stating that this was a risk, and some of them even clarified that if the order placed after the closure could not be fulfilled, the passenger would receive a full refund.

Of course the decision to book a plane ticket beyond the permitted hours and try to test the seriousness of the enforcement is a violation of the law, and there is a chance that if caught you will not be allowed to board the flight.

We emphasize that this article is intended to show how incomplete the outline is and does not encourage a violation of the law, but the results of the examination we conducted highlight as aforesaid how difficult the decision made is to implement.

The Ministry of Transportation stated: "Passengers wishing to leave Israel are required to present at the entrance gates of the terminal and at the check-in counters for the flight a purchase ticket before the closing date. Passengers who purchased flight tickets after the closing date will not be allowed to enter the terminal. "The gates of the State of Israel. An attempt to leave the country that is not in accordance with the regulations is a violation of the law."
