Ruben Dias, defender of Benfica and the Portuguese national team, is preparing to join Manchester City for 68 million euros, 15 of which are the valuation of the Argentine Nicolas Otamendi, who will make the opposite path.
This was announced by the Portuguese club with a statement.
Benfica has reached an agreement with City for the sale of Dias (23 years old) which also provides a bonus of 3.6 million euros depending on the results he will get with Pep Guardiola's team.
The agreement, the club continues, will end after the medical examinations that the player will undergo in Manchester.
For Otamendi it is a return to Portuguese football, where he already wore the Porto shirt between summer 2010 and January 2014.
Coach Jorge Jesus explained last weekend that Dias's departure had become inevitable to rebalance Benfica's finances after their elimination in the third qualifying round of the Champions League, at the hands of PAOK from Thessaloniki.
