Japan once again loses one of its young stars.
After the alleged suicide of Sei Ashina two weeks ago, actress Yuko Takeuchi was also found dead at her home in Shibuya in Tokyo on Sunday, September 27, according to local media.
The body of the 40-year-old Japanese actress was discovered by her husband, actor Taiki Nakabayashi, around 2 a.m.
Her death was confirmed once she arrived at the hospital.
While no suicide note was found, Tokyo Metropolitan Police have still launched an investigation and suspect suicide.

It happened all of a sudden, and we are all stunned and saddened by this news,
” said his talent agency, Stardust Promotion Inc.

Born in Saitama, north of Tokyo, in 1980, Yuko Takeuchi began her career with small roles, including one in the legendary
Ring
of Hideo Nakata in 1998. She then appeared in a number of television productions and films, notably the
Asuka
morning drama series
aired between 1999 and 2000 where it eventually gained attention.
For three consecutive years, she was nominated in the Best Actress category at the Japanese Academy Awards, the equivalent of the Oscars in Japan, for her roles in
Yomigaeri
(2002),
Be with You
(2004) and
Spring Snow
(2005) .
Appreciated in Japanese territory, Yuko Takeuchi won the prize for best actress at the Nikkan Sports Film Awards for
Dog in a Sidecar
in 2007 as well as at the Kinema Junpo Awards in 2008 for the same film.
The actress is even once again nominated for the Japanese Academy awards for her supporting role in
Cape Nostalgia
in 2015.

Throughout her career, the actress continues to work both for Japanese projects such as the series of historical dramas

Actress Sei Ashina on September 14, actor and singer Haruma Miura in July and wrestler Hana Kimura in May are or suspected of having committed suicide.
