(ANSA) - BUENOS AIRES, 29 SEPTEMBER - The Brazilian Federal Prosecutor of Rio de Janeiro filed a formal complaint against the lawyer and senator Flavio Bolsonaro, one of the sons of President Jair Bolsonaro, accusing him of money laundering.
In a 300-page memo filed by the Public Prosecutor, accessed by the newspaper, Bolsonaro and his former consultant Fabricio Queiroz are accused of "embezzlement, money laundering and conspiracy crimes".
Various magistrates worked on the investigation for two years collecting evidence for crimes allegedly committed between 2003 and 2019, when the current senator was a deputy in the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro.
According to the prosecution, the money was laundered by buying real estate, including a chocolate shop in the city center, and by paying personal expenses in cash to conceal the irregular origin of the money.
