The whimsical shapes that the wind carves in the dunes and that end up forming that very attractive postcard at the foot of the beaches will be, next summer, precisely that: a beautiful landscape.
No longer a makeshift circuit.
You can take walks on foot and, if you want, capture a selfie with the seabed from those undulations, but no more:
the municipality of Pinamar prohibited the circulation of all types of vehicles in the dunes area.
Those caught driving in the area will be subject to "severe fines, the maximum of those provided for by law", the vehicle may be hijacked and, if it has also caused breakages (breaking the palisade to pass, for example) will be considered a crime against property.
The immediate argument

"are doing it on private property", but the main reason has to do with health, with the pandemic.
"It is about decongesting care due to multiple injuries or injuries that are not serious for those who are going to have fun with their motorcycle. Starting in advance from a historical deficit in public health, we want everything to be focused on the attention of Covid cases" , explained to Clarín the Secretary of Security of Pinamar, Lucas Ventoso.
He said that in the summers, the average daily accident report in the dunes, in the northern part of the resort, is 10 cases and that each one takes an hour to go and another hour to return to the hospital, plus four professionals dedicated to care of that person.
"This is what we want to avoid, by decongesting as much as possible the use of the health system that collapses every summer, in normal seasons," Ventoso explained.
In the next few days, the Secretary of Security will finish completing a wooden palisade and wire that will separate the dunes from the beach.
The official clarified that what is prohibited is driving through the dunes, not along the beach.
"Along the beach and parallel to the sea, always respecting traffic laws, kilometers can be traveled. The strict prohibition is to walk in the dunes. Not a summer goes by when we are waiting for the first death caused by an accident there."
In Pinamar it is practically a circular sport among the dunes with trucks, quadricycles and motorcycles, and there can be hundreds walking at the same time.
"Nothing that has an engine can circulate in the dunes area," he said.
For that, Ventoso explained, the laws in force, the Faults and Traffic codes of the Province of Buenos Aires will be applied.
"The law will be applied severely to whoever breaks the fence, which constitutes a crime such as damaging urban furniture, for which they will also have to take charge financially."

police officers involved in Operation Sol will be in charge of control in the area

The municipality will disseminate the prohibition so that "whoever arrives in Pinamar knows in advance that they will not be able to circulate in the dunes."
In the event that an automotive manufacturer, as has happened, intends to install a circuit to perform a test drive for its SUVs, it will have to be duly enabled.
"It will work like a qualified circuit, with insurance that covers it, as if it were a racetrack, one because they have a Ferrari cannot go 200 down the street."
