The Ministry of Health continues to postpone the publication of a satisfaction survey on its activities.
As we published in "Israel Today" about two months ago, this is a survey that found a particularly low level of public satisfaction with the service it receives from the ministry's units.
The request is now being postponed for another two months, even though some of the findings have already been published.
Thus, for example, the pharmacy department in the ministry received a score of 30 out of 100. Satisfaction with the Public Inquiries Unit received a score of 29, the (regular) food service was rated 28 and the Freedom of Information Unit itself received a particularly low score - 28.
Following the publication, the Association of Chambers of Commerce submitted a request to receive the data in accordance with the Freedom of Information Law.
They received two one-month rejection requests.
Now that the deadline has passed, they have received a letter from the Assistant Director General of the Ministry of Health, requesting a delay in publication for another 60 days. , Wrote Noam Weizner, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Health.
Oz Haim, deputy director of divisions in the Association of Chambers of Commerce, said in response: "The postponement of the time to transfer the information is completely unacceptable.
These are the results of a survey that exists in the ministry's possession and does not require processing or collection. "
In a response to the Ministry of Health, he stated: "You have increased and decided to postpone another 60 days just because the law allows you. And I ask about nothing? What is your fear of sending my request? "You must give considerable weight to the public's right to know and attach great weight to the public interest in publishing information of a public nature. You should create access to the requested information without additional rejection exercises, which have no justification in the circumstances."
