AC / DC tweet with new cast

A message on the official social media channels of the Australian rock band AC / DC gave their fans certainty: The new AC / DC line-up includes three returnees who had not recently appeared with the group.

"ARE YOU READY? #PWRUP" says the message;

The names of the musicians are given next to a group photo: Angus Young, Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams, Phil Rudd and Stevie Young.

The last remaining founding member of the Australian band, Angus Young, was able to win back the following musicians in addition to the rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, who replaced his uncle Malcolm, who initially fell ill in 2014 and then died in 2017:

  • Brian Johnson, the lead singer since 1980, had left the band during the "Rock or Bust" tour in 2016, citing serious hearing problems.

    He had been replaced by Guns N 'Roses' Axl Rose for the remainder of the tour.

  • Phil Rudd, the drummer, had not officially left the band, but had not been able to work with the band since 2014 due to legal proceedings.

    He was sentenced to house arrest for drug possession and was undergoing psychiatric treatment.

  • Cliff Williams, the bassist, left in 2016 because, in his opinion, the band had lost too many key members.

Since 2018 there had been rumors about the return of the musicians and the work on a new album by the band.

The concerted news suggests that the promotion phase for this album has begun and it will probably be called "Power Up".
