Hundreds of students have protested against "sexist" dress codes in secondary schools in Geneva.
The demonstrators, mostly girls and young women, gathered in front of the Pinchat College on Wednesday.
They called for the abolition of the current rules that make them feel humiliated.
The school had forced two boys and ten girls to wear a knee-length "T-shirt of shame" after the summer vacation.
The reason given was that the young people had worn inappropriate clothing that was hidden by the oversized T-shirts.
The shirt read "I am wearing appropriate clothing".
The story became known after the mother of one of the girls complained to the Geneva school authorities.
According to media reports, she accused the school of "using her power to degrade, humiliate and stigmatize young girls."
The school replied that the requirement to wear "correct and appropriate" clothing applies "regardless of gender".
Critics complain that these rules, which exist in most secondary schools in Switzerland, are interpreted subjectively.
