At a time when many airlines around the world are having a hard time staying afloat, South Africa plans to launch a new airline that will offer domestic flights across the country, starting this coming winter.
But only one toddler thing is missing to get started: a name for the company.
The Travel and Leisure website reports that the company has decided to give up contacting branding offices or business consultants, and contact the general public directly.
Thus was born a new competition for finding the most apt name.
The lucky winner will be awarded a particularly enticing prize: free flights on the company’s aircraft for an entire year.
New airline executives are looking for "a name that is cool, unique and full of inspiration," the website set up for the purpose of the competition said.
"If your name is chosen, you will be the lucky winner on flights for a year, worth 480,000 rand" (about 97,000 shekels).

The plague created a unique opportunity
The new airline is a joint venture between Gidon Novik, founder of the South African airline Kulala and the Global Aviation Group.
Its first flights will run on the Johannesburg-Cape Town route, a route considered one of the busiest in the world (12th in the world in terms of traffic volume).
The start of the activity is this coming December.
Thus, while many in the world of aviation are reducing activity until the rage passes, Novik believes it is time to embark on a new venture.
"The plague has created a unique opportunity to set up an airline that is not only significantly efficient, but also very creative and replete with inventiveness," says Novick.
"Similar to the way Uber has changed the way we move from place to place, the aviation industry also has a tremendous opportunity to rethink its relationship with its passengers, and to be completely and totally customer-oriented," adds Jonathan Aicha, a former senior executive at the company. Uber, involved in the new project.
If you are also interested in participating in the competition, you must register in the online form on the company's website.
But you should hurry, as the competition is only open until mid-October.
