In the last 24 hours, new infections in
Israel
were almost 9 thousand (8,919), thus marking a new record.
Over 65 thousand - according to health data - swabs carried out with a morbidity rate of 13.6%.
The active cases of the disease are 69 thousand with 810 seriously ill, for the first time in decline, and 206 in ventilation.
Deaths reached 1,571 with 43 deaths in one day.
A national lockdown is underway in Israel which for now has been extended until 14 October.
The
Canada
decided to extend the closure of its borders to foreigners until the end of October, with the exception of those whose presence on its territory is considered essential: it announced the Government.
"We are extending existing restrictions on international travel from countries other than the United States to Canada until October 31, 2020," Bill Blair, Canadian public security minister, said on Twitter.
Since last March, travelers arriving in Canada, Canadian or not, have been subjected to a mandatory 14-day quarantine to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
From today,
South Africa
reopens its borders to all other African countries after the closure on March 27 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Guardian reports it.
Entries from around 50 states that still have a high rate of infections are prohibited, including Great Britain, France, the United States, Russia and India.
The indicators are all out of bounds but
Paris
will not suffer the feared government squeeze today: this is what is leaking from sources close to the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, who is preparing this afternoon to pronounce his expected weekly point on the epidemic situation.
For days the situation in Paris and Ile-de-France has been carefully observed, which by now have all the numbers to go to the "maximum alert zone" such as Marseille and Aix-en-Provence last week, with the consequent closure of all bars and restaurants for at least 15 days.
Last night's numbers, with 253 cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants in 7 days, make Paris a potentially "dark red" area like Lyon, Lille and Grenoble.
Yet, according to what is learned, "there will be no new territories today" that will enter the group of those "maximum alert zone", reserved for now for Marseille, Aix and Guadeloupe.
The executive would have considered these decisions premature on a larger scale only a week after the first experiment and would prefer to wait for the results of the tightening in place only a few days in those areas.
