For the fourth consecutive year the city of Campania and its hinterland take the scepter of the best pizzeria in Italy and in the world according to the 50 Top Pizza 2020 ranking. But there is nevertheless a twist, if last year there is it was a tie between Franco Pepe di Caiazzo's Pepe in Grani (winner three times) and Francesco Martucci's I Masanielli in Caserta, this year

hit the top by taking the highest podium.

Pepe in Grani goes down a step while in third place is I Tigli by Simone Padoan (San Bonifacio, Verona), who also wins the special pizza maker of the year award.


    Top Pizza 50

is the first and most important on-line guide of the sector and draws up the ranking of the best pizzerias based on the quality of the food proposal and the set of services offered to the customer.

Campania remains the region with the highest number of clubs in the ranking, as many as 16. The Pasticceria in Pizzeria award goes to Dry Milano, while the best sweet pizza is the Pizza Colada of Seu Pizza Illuminati, Rome.

The best room service is by Francesco & Salvatore Salvo, Naples.

The best wine, beer and oil lists are respectively: 50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo Pizzeria, Napoli Apogeo (Pietrasanta, Lucca), Giangi Pizza and Ricerca (Arielli, Chieti).

The prestigious international awards were also awarded for the top pizzerias in Japan, Canada, Asia and Oceania.

Among the winners, Pizzeria Braceria Cesari (Nagoya, Japan), Via Tevere Pizzeria Napoletana (Vancouver, Canada), CIAK - In The Kitchen (Hong Kong) and 400 Gradi (Brunswick, Australia) which also received the award for Best Pizza Neapolitan outside Italy.

Due to Covid this year it was not possible to draw up the rankings of the best pizzerias in the USA, South America and Africa.
