About two weeks ago, Eli Rosenberg bought about 43 percent of El Al, as part of the process of issuing shares in the largest airline in Israel.
Rosenberg, through its Eagle Wings company, has invested a little over $ 100 million in the deal.
Today, the Eagles Wings Company received the official announcement that control of the company has passed to them.
The official approval came from the Companies Authority and is in fact the final approval for the deal that takes El Al on a new path.
The person who signed the permit is the Minister of Finance, Israel Katz, the Minister of Transportation, Miri Regev, the Minister in charge of the Companies Authority, Dudi Amsalem, and the Minister of Defense, Bnei Gantz.
Eagles Wings is expected to make quite a few changes to the airline to adapt to the current situation and make it from a losing company to a profitable one.
Expected measures will also include layoffs, a reduction in the aircraft fleet, a reduction in the company's goals, a replacement of the board members and changes in the company's management.
The Eagles Wings company stated: "We have set ourselves a clear goal to restore customers' trust in the company, and with the cooperation of employees to put it back on the runway. We intend to return EL AL to fly on a significant scale, expanding flights on profitable routes ".
In this statement, the company announces its intentions to fly, among other things, to the United Arab Emirates.
The recently signed peace agreement poses a very significant challenge to EL AL, the main point of which will be to deal with the large and powerful airlines from the United Arab Emirates.
