'The sign of women' in the history of Italy

(ANSA) - ROME, 04 OCT - Determined, fighters, unconventional, pioneers of art, politics, sports, religion, capable of directing history and not giving up on themselves: they are the protagonists of the docufiction series' The sign of women ', an original Rai Storia-Anele co-production, presented by Rai Cultura and broadcast on Rai Storia from 6 October at 9 pm, dedicated to the public and private life of Margherita Sarfatti, Ondina Valla, Adele Faccio, Vera Vergani, Chiara Lubich and Lalla Romano.

Six Italians who lived between the 19th and 20th centuries, which come to life in the interpretations of Sonia Bergamasco, Eleonora Giovanardi, Monica Nappo, Matilde Gioli, Anita Zagaria, Pamela Villoresi, interviewed by the historian and art critic Rachele Ferrario.


    "They are women who have left a mark: with their life, talent and independence they have contributed decisively to our culture. We tell them with great fidelity to the Bibliographic sources, using the same words they pronounced, thanks also to a formidable work of team with the authors ", explains to ANSA Ferrario, author of the book 'MargheritaSarfatti.

   "I would have expected everything, except to conduct a program in which I interview six extraordinary actresses. Sonia Bergamasco has climbed perfectly into Sarfatti, allowing me to complete a work that began with the book: dragging her out of Mussolini's bed to restore her to the greatness of art criticism she has contributed to creating the ecstatic during Fascism, in a male world which then denied her: she was Jewish and had to flee Italy to save her children ".


    Eleonora Giovanardi is Ondina Valla, the first Italian woman to win a gold medal at the Olympics, in Berlin in 1936.


   Monica Nappo is the political activist Adele Faccio, Matilde Giolthe theater and film actress Vera Vergani, one of the most important of her time.

Anita Zagaria is Chiara Lubich, founder of the Focolare Movement.

Finally, Pamela Villoresi gives her face to the writer Lalla Romano.
