(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, OCTOBER 4 - Donald Trump had undergone a rapid test that had given a positive result for the coronavirus already Thursday but had not revealed it, pending the outcome of the swab. This was reported by some US media.
The president had received the first outcome on Thursday evening before appearing on Fox, where he said nothing, merely confirming that one of the people closest to him (Hope Hicks) had been infected and was awaiting the outcome of the swab in the evening or next day. Then he announced the positive on Twitter at around 1am Friday night. Trump had asked to remain silent on his first test, so much so that even his campaign leader Bill Stepiens knew that Hicks tested positive on Thursday morning.
