Dozens of ancient Egyptian tombs found near Skara (one of the oldest and most important pharaonic burial sites in Egypt), were opened after 2,500 years, and within them mummies were discovered with their brains missing.

Egyptian archaeologists have found the 59 colored coffins that have not been touched so far, and now they were first opened and displayed yesterday (Saturday) in the city of Giza, not far from the burial site.

The excavation at the site, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, began about two months ago when a 13x13-meter-deep burial shaft was uncovered containing bodies believed by experts to be of priests and high officials from the 26th dynasty in Egypt. 12 meters, they are also filled with coffins in good condition with their original

"I am very proud that this discovery, with 59 coffins in perfect condition for preservation, was made by an Egyptian delegation and Egyptian hands," Egyptian General Secretary General Mustafa al-Waziri said at a news conference. "This discovery, all 59 wooden coffins, It will be on display in the Great Egyptian Museum and it's a gift of the century.

"We opened it and found the surprise," he says.

"We found a collection of coffins. I did not know how many, but it seemed to me that there were dozens of wooden coffins. Very soon we will continue our excavations to review further finds in Skara's sand."
