Even at 77, Schwarzer is still Germany's most famous feminist.

In 1975 she published her first bestseller "The Little Difference" on the sexual oppression of women. Meanwhile, Schwarzer's most important topic is Islam, and critics accuse her of making racist arguments.

Now Schwarzer is publishing the second part of her autobiography.

The conversation takes place in Schwarzer's office in the FrauenMediaTurm in Cologne, and the "Emma" editorial team is in the same building.

The force that

Alice Schwarzer can

develop is shown later in the taxi: Schwarzer asks to be dropped off on the way to the train station.

The driver makes the wrong turn, she screams angrily, he tears at the steering wheel in shock.

When she is long out of sight, he says: "I'm still shaking."

SPIEGEL:

Ms. Schwarzer, why don't you tweet?

You would be guaranteed hate, love and reach.

Alice Schwarzer:

I know, but I don't want to.

My colleagues do it for "Emma", so I have a political presence there.

I don't even have a smartphone, but an old phone with thick buttons, and I often forget to charge it.

I still write my articles on the typewriter.

Next to it is my iPad.

At the risk of being considered an older girl: No.

I also don't read what is being written about me.

I prefer to go to the country and sit under my linden tree.

Scholz & Friends did a relaunch with "Emma" last year, and they also strongly recommended social media to me.

But at some point it's over, you only have one life.

And I also think that you don't have to give up your mustard with everything at all times.
