Today, the Ministries of Education, Communications and Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding that allows students of all educational levels to access various scientific sites and the Syrian scientific content on the local servers of the Ministry of Education for free, in a way that contributes to enriching the educational process.

The memorandum aims to increase the number of features over the previously existing equipment to allow students to access various scientific sites and Syrian scientific content for free without any cost, provided that these sites are hosted in Syria as an aid to students and teachers for distance learning.

According to the text of the memorandum, the Ministry of Communications and Technology provided cellular internet packages at nominal prices and free terrestrial internet packages aimed at achieving national development goals as a contribution to facilitate students' access to the aforementioned sites, while the Ministry of Education is committed to securing electronic addresses for scientific sites in addition to local scientific content that achieves the goals of this memorandum in a manner that guarantees Commitment to achieving the desired goals and providing what helps the Ministry of Communications, the Communications and Post Regulatory Authority, to monitor indicators that contribute to measuring the extent of achieving the desired goal, access rates, and content development.

In a statement to reporters after the signing of the memorandum, the Minister of Communications and Technology, Engineer Iyad Al-Khatib, indicated that in light of the spread of the Corona epidemic, distance education or e-learning has become an urgent and necessary need. Therefore, the Ministry built a special system that allows the student in his home to access these sites and learn remotely through The electronic educational platforms on which the Ministry of Education is based, provided that these sites are hosted in Syria.

In turn, the Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabaa, explained that starting tomorrow, the memo will be in service so that every student can access the digital content in the Ministry of Education for free and in private means of communication, it will be at nominal prices.
