Those who cannot work from home are often faced with a new challenge - the canteens are closed.

You will still be full with these recipes.

  • Do you hold the position in the office and keep wondering what to eat at lunchtime because the canteen is closed?

  • There are recipes that don't require a stove or a microwave.

  • Try these kettle dishes.

The coronavirus has turned the world of work upside down.

A not so central part, but one that worries many people: In many places the canteens are closed or only work to a very limited extent.

Suddenly you have to take care of the lunch break yourself.

If you don't always have to just have sandwiches, we have a few very simple recipes for you that all you need is a kettle.

Tortellini with pesto

Good news for pasta fans: you don't have to pre-cook your pasta at home and then go out and look for a microwave *.

Just buy

tortellini from the refrigerated counter

.

They are fresh and only take a few minutes to soak in hot water - which you can easily do in the kettle.

Of course, the tip also works with other types of pasta from the refrigerated counter, such as tagliatelle.

Simply eat a

dollop of pesto of your choice

and a few cherry tomatoes and you've conjured up a delicious, nutritious meal.

Also tastes cold: this marble cake recipe makes your mouth water

Cereals with fruits

You can find them in different versions in the children's section:

cereal porridge

.

They are usually mixed with milk, but you can also prepare them with hot water and then simply

stir in

some

yoghurt

.

Fresh fruits or apple pulp go well with it.

Tsampa

is much more exotic

.

This roasted barley flour is eaten in Tibet and also tastes delicious with fruit and a little cinnamon and sugar.

The porridge is also delicious with hearty combinations with cheese or grilled vegetables.

And this is what your tsampa can look like:

It used to be called gruel, but porridge * sounds a lot more appetizing.

You can boil the oatmeal with milk, but also with water.

And this is where the kettle comes into play.

Simply mix the

oatmeal with the fruit of your choice

, a little sugar and cinnamon and pour so much hot water over it that the oatmeal can soak up.

Here, too, a

dollop of

yogurt

adds a

bit of creaminess.

Asian soup from the glass

A hot soup * warms your stomach and soul.

This variant from the glass is easy to prepare at home and take with you to the office.

There you just have to pour hot water from the kettle over them and your lunch is ready.

You need:

  • a screw jar or mason jar

  • 30 g glass noodles

  • 200 g vegetables of your choice

  • 2 tsp miso paste

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 thin slice of ginger

  • 1 pinch of turmeric powder

How to prepare the soup in the glass:

  • Prepare the glass noodles according to the package instructions, but so that they are only almost ready.

    Fill them in the glass.

  • Clean the vegetables and cut them into small pieces.

Vegetables that take a long time to cook, such as carrots, can be pre-cooked or cut into very fine strips or grated.

    Also layers in the glass.

  • Mix the miso paste with the soy sauce and the turmeric powder and pour the whole thing into the glass.

  • Place the slice of ginger on top of the glass and seal it tightly.

  • In the office, pour the glass half full with hot water from the kettle.

Close the lid, shake once, and then let the soup steep for about five minutes with the lid on and not closed.

  • Then pour the glass up to the brim with hot water, stir well and enjoy the soup.

You can also season them with soy sauce.

  • The

    "soup in a glass" principle

does not only work in the Asian version, of course.

Instead, you can use small soup or vermicelli and instead of miso paste and soy sauce, you can also use conventional granulated broth.

    Try it.

A quick meal after work: You only need a few ingredients for this pasta bake

    Couscous With Vegetables

In contrast to pasta, couscous cooks very quickly.

You can easily pour hot water from the kettle on the small durum wheat balls, let them soak, season and eat them with a side dish of your choice.

Mix the portion of couscous you want to eat in the office with one or two teaspoons of granulated broth at home, so you don't have to take as many spices with you.

You can also prepare the vegetables that you want to eat with them at home.

Paprika, tomato and cucumber are great, but canned chickpeas also taste wonderful and are also filling.

As soon as the couscous is ready, simply mix in the vegetables and you have a

    warm, filling meal

    .
