A girl died in Albanella, a town in the province of Salerno, after her car was overwhelmed by the water of a torrent in flood due to the wave of bad weather that hit the area.
The woman's body, which had been missing for a few hours, was recovered by firefighters outside the car.
The girl, a 26 year old, lost her life following the flooding of the Malnome stream, in the municipality of Albanella. The young woman was in a car with another person when the watercourse, due to the abundant rainfall that affected the area in the late afternoon, invaded the roadway, overwhelming the car. The other person on board managed to escape, while the young woman was thrown out of the cockpit. His body was found around 9.30 pm by the fire brigade in the Piano del Carpine hamlet.
