(ANSA) - FLORENCE, 09 OCT - An unpublished document, although not autographed, by Niccolò Machiavelli was found among the materials kept in the National Central Library of Florence during the reorganization of the papers of the Palatine fund and will be presented on Sunday 11 October in the Galileo room of the Library. In this regard, the Minister of Cultural Heritage DarioFranceschini said: "We live in a country that is unique in the world, with such a rich cultural heritage that it continues to surprise you with new incredible discoveries". Among the 268 Palatine manuscripts in the process of being cataloged, a composite code was found, on paper, set up in Florence in the second half of the 16th century by Giuliano de 'Ricci, grandson of Machiavelli, heir and collector of his papers. In the codex there are one hundred papers composed in two large files, which preserve numerous historical fragments attributable to Machiavelli, hitherto unknown: the texts, working materials of the secretary of the Florentine Republic and his circle, cover the years from 1496 to 1515 and include the narration of crucial events in the history of Italy. The Machiavellian authorship of the texts would be certified by various annotations by Giuliano de 'Ricci. (HANDLE).
