Until October 8, Christie's offered on its online platform, paintings and objects from 42 galleries that should have participated in the Biennale Paris.
The event was canceled at the beginning of September at the Grand Palais due to Covid-19 and postponed to 2021 under the ephemeral structure of the Champs de Mars.
At the close of the auction, even if we expect a few more “aftersales”, the result is not very convincing.
There are only 21 lots sold out of 90, for a meager product of 1.5 million euros.
Cautiously, Christie's had not announced an overall estimate, to take no risk.

It is very little then that online sales have never done so well in these times of pandemic, recording record results in almost every area.
Initiated by the president of the Biennale Paris, Georges de Jonckheere who was looking for another way to make people talk about the Biennale, this operation did not encourage amateurs to go see the pieces in the galleries, either.
