(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 09 - A comic reportage made of research, interviews and direct observation tells the hard work, between war and poverty, of the UN Food Program.

It is 'Urgenza Level 3' (€ 14.90) published by Edizioni StarComics, published in the year that saw, on 9 October, the award of the Nobel Peace Prize 2020 to the World FoodProgramme, the United Nations agency with based in Rome that fights against world hunger.

Written by Joshua Dysart and Jonathan Dumont, the latter already winner of an Emmy Award and head of the Wfp multimedia department, the comic is drawn by Alberto Ponticelli and Pat Masioni and shows us the great work of the Food Program in Iraq, South Sudan and Chad. some of the most critical areas in the world, battered by war and poverty.

'Urgenza Level 3' was conceived with the aim of telling the reality in which this program operates through the live voice of the protagonists, with research carried out by the authors between 2014 and 2016. With raw images that do not spare us the safety of the crisis, the authors tell stories that want to lead us back to our humanity.

"Nobody wants to be defined for their unhappiness": Khaled Bushar says this while, fleeing from ISIS soldiers, he remembers happy days with his family in Kurdistan.

Like Khaled, there are many protagonists of these pages who, beyond the brutal reality, strike the reader with the strength of those who want to bring hope.

In the classification of the United Nations Organization, Urgency Level 3 indicates the maximum degree of a humanitarian crisis and hence the name of the graphic novel.

WFP, the largest humanitarian organization in the world, brings aid to more than 80 million people in 83 countries every year.

With the dissemination work carried out by the team led by Jonathan Dumont, he adds an important role of awareness and testimony to the action on the field.
