Its packaging is at least as important as the product itself. But what if mistakes happen in the redesign?
Nausea and diarrhea could now threaten when consuming this popular drink.
For many, it is a wonderful
holiday souvenir
when the days get colder and rainier:
Sangria
.
In
German supermarkets
, it is conveniently available ready-mixed.
A
large wine importer
is now calling his sangria back * -
EDEKA *
and
Marktkauf customers
are affected.
Fish
itching, diarrhea and palpitations
-
wine
can cause these ailments
for many people
.
Vintners often add
sulfur
, more precisely
sulfur dioxide
, to it during production
.
Its antioxidant and antimicrobial properties prevent the wine from fermenting and turning into vinegar so quickly.
In principle, these so-called
“sulfites”
are not bad, as they maintain the
quality of the wine
, improve its
shelf life
and are often naturally present.
They are therefore often used as
preservatives
in
dried fruit
and potato products
used.
However, many people are sensitive to them because they
can cause
bacteria
* that attack the intestinal wall from the inside.
Winegrowers
therefore now always offer
wines without the addition of sulfites
- and this is also explicitly indicated on the
labels
.
But what if this label is missing? *
Allergy sufferers
who unknowingly consume the sulphite-containing wine anyway, then have to
cope
with
headaches and stomach and intestinal problems
.
That's why
Hauser Weinimport GmbH
from
Fischach is
now reacting
and calling back a whole
batch of sangria
.
Video: This is how you can make the perfect sangria yourself
As part of a new edition of the
packaging
, the
allergen label "Contains sulfites" has
"regrettably" been removed, the company has now announced.
"For precautionary consumer protection reasons",
Sangria fans
who are sensitive to
sulfites
are now urgently
advised
against
drinking
the
affected product
.
The
winery
immediately removed the
goods that were still on sale
from the market, but customers of the
supermarket chains EDEKA
and
Marktkauf
should now check their last purchases to know whether they were affected.
EDEKA and Marktkauf: Sangria can contain sulfites
The concerned was sold
sangria
with
seven percent alcohol content
in the
box
with each
one liter
.
Since no
best-before date is
stipulated
for wines
, customers must
identify the
goods concerned
themselves
using the first four digits of the
lot number
.
This is
"L6573"
and is located on the
top of the packaging
right next to the closure.
This is
now
communicated by the consumer
portal product warning
.
