Then COVID-19 and stage IV cancer changed everything.
Please don't use the word “battle” to refer to my life or my illness,
”the Canadian soprano wrote on social media.
But despite her rage for life, on Thursday, October 8, Erin Wall eventually succumbed to breast cancer at the age of 44.
The disease was diagnosed in January 2018 at stage III.

Born November 4, 1975 in Canada, Erin Wall graduated in music from Western Washington University, Shepherd School of Music, and also Rice University in Houston.
The powerful and theatrical Canadian soprano made her international stage debut in 2002 with the London Symphony Orchestra and Sir Andrew Davis.
In 2003, she reached the final of the prestigious BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition.
It was by joining in 2005 the production of
Così fan tutte
by Patrice Chéreau as Fiordiligi that his career was finally launched.
The most prestigious stages in the world followed, including the Opéra National de Paris, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Washington National Opera.
Erin Wall broadened his repertoire, from Mozart to Mahler to Beethoven, alongside great conductors.
Mariss Jansons, Pierre Boulez and Yannick Nézet-Séguin have worked with her.

I Can See Clearly Now
Despite the illness, the opera singer will continue her work until January 2020. Almost until her last breath she continued to tour to sing around the world.
On January 19, 2020, she was on stage for the last time with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and conductor Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla as Magna Peccatrix in
Mahler's Symphony No.
8, her latest triumph.
