The 5,000 squares of the Delta del Tigre have protocols to receive visitors
when the reopening
of tourist activity in that nautical area
is authorized
, where
consultations to spend the summer
in cabins, gated communities and fifths
grew 90% compared to last year
, as reported on Friday by the local Tourism Secretariat.
The explosive growth in the demand for accommodation to spend the summer in the Delta recognizes two fundamental reasons, which are
the proximity to the city
of Buenos Aires and the other suburbs, the main center for issuing tourists throughout the country, and the
vast natural spaces surrounded by water
that characterize this area where the Paraná and De la Plata rivers cross.
The growth of inquiries led providers to quickly adapt their accommodations to comply with the protocols required by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports (Minturdep) to receive visitors.
The Secretary of Tourism of Tigre, Florencia Mosqueda, pointed out that "
the accommodations have the protocols
designed by the Minturdep and, in addition,
will have a quality seal
granted by the municipality that reinforces those measures and fully ensures the prevention of contagion of coronavirus ".
The main changes in the provision of accommodation services after the pandemic indicate that tourists must bring
their own sheets and towels
, that
the cabins will be disinfected
before the arrival of visitors and that the complexes must have
two docks to avoid crowds
in the arrivals.
The sites for hand hygiene with
alcohol gel or soap and water
were also multiplied
, common spaces were eliminated and, in most sites,
the use of face masks
will be required
in the vicinity of places near buildings.
When tourist activity returns, there will be new protocols for visitors.
In addition, in many cases
individual barbecue areas
were built
for each cabin and in almost all complexes
the pools and spa will remain closed
.
Mosqueda assured that "the measures are effective" and said that "now we are working to make them more flexible in the cabin area, where we want the qualifications to be for complexes with a single unit and not only for those with a minimum of three locations."
"In this way we would have a greater number of places to respond to the unexpected growth in the demand for rentals for the summer," he added.
Distance and hygiene
The secretary indicated that "it must be taken into account that the distancing conditions reduce the number of places and also that the launch of the 2021 Pre-Travel Government program can further multiply the demand."
For his part, Esteban Alduvino, head of the Bordeaux cabin complex, said that "the modifications basically have to do with
respecting distance and hygiene
, two factors that are guaranteed in this type of accommodation, because it is what tourists who they choose this destination. "
Each family can do activities with social distancing.
"By having protocols not only for the accommodation but also for the rest of the activities, and thanks to the municipal requirements for the authorizations that reinforce these measures, the provision of services is easier and safer," he said.
Some cabin owners hope to have more certainty about how the summer season will unfold in order to adapt their structures to the protocols, although most are willing to make the necessary modifications when there are more definitions.
"While we wait for more definitions, we are also moving forward with service providers to offer packages with all the attractions that the Delta has at affordable prices," Mosqueda finally remarked.
Tigre, which
received more than 5.6 million tourists
in a whole year and some
100,000 visits during the weekends
, has new nautical tours that allow to know the historical and scenic treasures of the Delta in the Tigre, Luján, Capitán rivers Sarmiento and San Antonio.
The Museum of Art, one of the emblematic buildings of Tigre.
It also allows you to enjoy different views of this natural system of 200 square kilometers made up of rivers, streams and islands that are home to a unique biodiversity.
The nautical walks are added to other activities proposed by the Tigre Tourism Secretariat to satisfy the demand of tourists, such as trekking, hiking, bicycle rides, photographic tours, bird watching and excursions around the islands.
Tours include the Museo de Arte del Tigre, a recycled building that in 1912 was the headquarters of the Tigre Social Club;
the Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, Haroldo Conti, and Naval de la Nación museums;
the Xul Solar House Museum and the Prefectural Museum, among other characteristic buildings.
