Two players and a staff member of the Under 21 national team, currently in Reykjavik ahead of the qualifying match for the European Championships of the category scheduled for today with Iceland, tested positive for Covid-19 after the swab carried out yesterday upon arrival at the airport and the results of which were disclosed late yesterday evening.

This was announced by the FIGC, which promptly took action to assess all the measures to be taken with UEFA and local health authorities.

Of the three positives in the Under-21 national team, one player is symptomatic and is constantly monitored by the national team medical staff.

The other two positives, with low viral load, have already carried out a second swab for a further verification of positivity.

The whole delegation that arrived yesterday in Iceland was negative for the three swabs carried out in Italy since the beginning of the meeting.

The match has been postponed and the national team will return in the evening.

The members of the group who tested positive will return on a separate flight.
