Will it be another change due to Covid-19?

The Italian boys, boys and girls aged 10 to 18, learned to cook with their families during the lockdown, baking pizzas and cakes with their parents and mixing tortellini and fettuccine.

Now that the school year has resumed in fits and starts in most of the institutions with days in attendance alternating with others at home, our children have resumed crackling and this time alone, while their parents are in the office or on a video call from the living room.

While often their mothers and fathers have had to learn how to prepare meals as adults, the last generations show us that they want and know how to do it on their own and cook in a completely new way.

More than the classic recipes tried with mom and dad or those shown in the episodes of MasterChef, teenagers prefer to be inspired by their favorite social network, Tik Tok, a new virtual kitchen where

recipes from all over the world go crazy prepared with few ingredients

, especially what you already find in the fridge or pantry.

The social network in question does not offer glossy photos and videos as the competitor Instagram shows and here the recipes are above all fun and sometimes a little crazy.

The most baked delicacy in these weeks since the start of the school year was (and still is

) the 'cloud bread'

which is at the top of the culinary trend whose hashtag

#cloudbread

has accumulated around 3 billion views in the world, while #panenuvola (made in Italy) now has 150,000.

The original recipe is from the Chinese TikToker @linqanaaa which makes 'yummy things'.

His 'cloud bread' has been viewed over 4 million times and not only by an audience of very young women as the commonplace might lead us to believe, the males are doing a lot of work exchanging photos of freshly baked bread even on WhatsApp groups .

Soft bread (made with only three very common ingredients at home such as egg whites, sugar and corn starch)

is ousting the scepter of the recipe previously served up by @linqanaaa itself, namely

the 'crabby patty burger bun. '

(inspired by the SpongeBob series) which collects a history of over 2 billion views, as well as' crazy' sweets made with round biscuits filled with crumbled cream or chocolate.

Naturally, the kids personalize the original recipes by relaunching their versions and churning out colorful and above all eye-catching foods.

There is no shortage of challenges for those who cook the craziest foods.

Flavia D., thirteen years old from Milan, explains: “We like TikTok recipes because they are really attractive to the eye, rather than being healthy and good.

For example, they are very colorful, soft, even strange and cooked easily and with few ingredients ".

Valerio F, a student of a Roman high school, emphasizes: “I tried the recipe yesterday because a friend of mine had tried it before me.

I wasn't supposed to go to school this week so I went to the supermarket to buy ingredients.

It is cooked in the oven.

It tasted great even if it tastes a little too much of an egg.

In the meantime, many of my other companions are also cooking it ”.

The long period spent at home to protect the health of the whole community has brought the boys closer to the stove, often for the first time.

And to the culinary challenges on social media there are also those who have started to invite some mates at home to cook pizza together without going to the pizzeria.

The most passionate even prepare tortellini, or 'ramen' soups (coolest among high school students) and, among the desserts, baked cakes, cupcakes and macarons.
