It's called "Among Us"

and it's not yet another fourth-rate horror film with some strangers ready to tear up the protagonists, but

the new video game that is going crazy among young people around the world

.

And don't expect stunning graphics, titanic clashes or death tolls.

None of this.

"Among Us" is the most basic you can think of: a simple game in which the participants have to guess who, among them, is the killer.

A very popular style, the son of various board games such as Cluedo or, for the older ones, of the card game which, look at it, is called "Assassin".

This time, however, the game ends up on smartphones, in the wake of that "free" that appears next to the application to download (attention, because on the PC the game costs € 3.99).

The maps available are all space-themed and the protagonists wear astronaut suits of different colors.

This is how the online challenges between young Sherlock Holmes are born who must try to understand, through information scattered here and there on the map, who among them is the killer.

The video game, by the US company Innersloth, is actually already "old" by two years.

Released in the summer of 2018, initially it did not have the success hoped for by the developers, except to

beat the competition in the months immediately after the lockdown

.

Suffice it to say that it has gone from a few dozen unique users connected to the millions of today.

But success never comes by chance.

In addition to the simple graphical interface, the immediate understanding of the game and the controls, the influencers also "convince" the kids to join the "Among Us" community.

Until the beginning of July, on Twitch - the platform dedicated specifically to video game streaming - the channels showing the so-called "Among Us" gameplay could be counted on the fingers of one hand.

Today there are almost 3,000 with an average of 160,000 spectators.

A figure that brings the video game to the third place of those most broadcast in the last week, behind only the unrivaled League of Legends and talk shows, but ahead of giants such as Call of Duty and Fortnite.
