(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 14 - The Italian tax system is the least competitive among all those of the 36 most industrialized countries adhering to the OECD. This is what emerges from the latest edition of the international tax competitiveness index prepared by the Epicenter study center. "Italy offers a less competitive tax system in the OECD - the document reads - due to the heavy administrative burden and tax system on people: it takes about 169 hours to fulfill all the tax obligations" that are incumbent on those who carry on economic activities. Even the consumption tax system, the study still notes, "reveals policy and application gaps as it covers only 40 per cent of final consumption". (HANDLE).
