This is the largest amount of the synthetic drug crystal meth that has ever been picked up by the DEA in the USA: US investigators have confiscated around one thousand kilos of methamphetamine.
That said the acting head of the agency, Timothy Shea.
He spoke of a "heavy blow" against the Mexican drug cartels.
Shea announced the success of the search at an appointment in a warehouse near Los Angeles.
The DEA boss stood in front of a three-meter-high pyramid made from the confiscated drugs.
More than 400 pounds of cocaine and heroin found
According to the agency, the methamphetamine found has a street sales value of $ 7.2 million (6.1 million euros).
It was seized at the beginning of October along with around 400 kilos of cocaine and almost six kilos of heroin.
The drugs were allegedly smuggled in by the Mexican cartels Sinaloa and Jalisco Nueva Generación, according to Shea.
The large quantities of drugs had been found in a nationwide operation launched in February.
According to the DEA, around 2,800 arrests have been made in the past six months as part of this operation.
