About 100 musicians demonstrated this evening (Friday) in front of the home of the Minister of Culture and Sports, Hili Troper in Ness Harim, in protest of the continued ban on performances due to the Corona crisis.

The demonstrators, who came with their musical instruments, held a "rehearsal" on the way to the demonstration and even included pieces of music in protest in front of the minister's house.

At the demonstration, the demonstrators demanded that the minister open the halls earlier to the list of stages as presented to the government, allow them to follow the outline of the purple sign and adjust it according to the hall size, venue conditions and type of show and transfer support grants to cultural institutions promised at the beginning of the crisis.

Actress and musician Nitza Shaul, who has been making classical music accessible to children for years, was among the demonstrators along with conductor and musician Doron Salomon, who spoke: Here today, in a miracle, in front of the house of the Minister of Culture, Mr. Hili Trooper. "Years for unique projects for the love of music among students with incredible success. We both know that without culture we will become dust."

Minister Trooper went out to the protesters and talked to them following the protest.

"I am excited that you came," the minister said, adding, "You give me a feeling that I am not alone in the struggle and remind me how important this struggle is."

"It is important to me that you know that you are doing the most beautiful and good thing a society needs. Your livelihood is our soul. The state has a responsibility to take care of your livelihood. The only industry that received an additional budget is the culture industry. NIS 200 million will hold the cultural institutions. ", He added.

"During November the budget will go to institutions where at least 70 percent of the workers will return to work. I get up in the morning to fight for your world to return. A company that says culture will only come back at the end says something insulting. It will take some time, "I talked about it in the Corona Cabinet. I talk about it in the government. We are together in this struggle, do not be impressed and do not get excited about headlines and populism. We have come a long way and will continue the struggle until we open.
