(ANSA) - COSENZA, 16 OCT - A heartfelt farewell to which Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte did not want to miss his presence, who changed his agenda in order to be present. And who wanted to pay homage to "a sincere, authentic woman in love with Calabria and who has always collaborated with the government with the utmost loyalty". Cosenza today clung to the president of the Region Jole Santelli, who died on the night of Wednesday and Thursday, on the day of her funeral celebrated in the church of San Nicola, a stone's throw from the Municipality, in compliance with the huge anti-Covid. In addition to Prime Minister Conte, the President of the Senate Maria Elisabetta Casellati, Interior Liner Luciana Lamorgese, the Vice President of the Chamber Ettore Rosato, together with all the regional councilors - who brought the shoulder coffin on arrival to the church - politicians and the mayor of Cosenza Mario Occhiuto, who was linked to Santelli by a deep friendship. But not only the political-institutional world found itself close to the sisters of Jole, Roberta and Paola and to her grandchildren. Outside, many simple citizens wanted to testify their affection for the president who passed away. At the end, Jole Santelli's coffin came out of the church accompanied by a long applause. Before the hearse moved towards Catanzaro Conte he wanted to pay the last homage to the governor and approached the coffin, caressing it.
