Peru reopened on October 15, some of its archaeological sites to the public.

For two days, visitors can once again stroll through Sacsayhuamán, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, Moray, Pikillacta and Tipón.

A reopening which is done under conditions, the Covid-19 pandemic obliges.

To enjoy the Inca cities, tourists must now follow a strict health protocol made of social distancing and wearing a mask throughout their journey.

Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, won't reopen right away. The famous archaeological site will not welcome visitors again until mid-November, yet a lucky tourist has already been able to walk alone in the gigantic city. Stuck in the city of Agua Calientes since the start of the pandemic, Jesse Katayama has received permission from local authorities to visit the site. “I didn't think I could go, but thanks to all those who begged the mayor and the government, I had this unique chance,” the Japanese wrote on his Facebook page.
