(ANSA) - PRAGUE, 18 OCT - The Old Town Square in Prague was transformed this afternoon into a battlefield, when the police intervened to disperse a demonstration of fans of football and hockey teams who were protesting against the ban on sporting events in scope of anti-Covid measures. Stones and firecrackers were thrown by the demonstrators, while the police used tear gas and water cannons. According to some witnesses there are some injured. The authorities decided to dissolve the demonstration because the participants - about 2,000 - far exceeded the allowed number of 500 for the rallies. (HANDLE).
