The agreement between the countries is expected to be signed the next day • It will allow airlines to fly between the two • The flights are expected to start in a few weeks, and maybe as early as next month
Historical news:
Israel and the United Arab Emirates agreed today (Sunday) on the details of an aviation agreement between the two countries, and announced that they would sign it the next day.
This is a move that stems from the normalization of relations between the two countries, which was approved last week in the Knesset.
This means that airlines will soon be able to operate flights between the United Arab Emirates and Israel.

In the first phase of the agreement, airlines will be able to operate no less than 28 weekly flights between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
The number does not refer to flights that will be operated to Eilat, where there is no restriction.
Under the agreement it was decided that at this stage the airlines would be able to operate 10 cargo flights between the destinations.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the expectation is that the flights between the countries will be implemented in a few weeks, maybe even as early as next month.
At the same time, El Al, Israir and Arkia are expected to soon operate flights to various destinations in the UAE.
Tomorrow, a historic event will take place at Ben Gurion Airport, as part of which the first passenger flight from the United Arab Emirates will land in Israel.
The Emirati airline Etihad will arrive in Israel with a delegation, and about two hours later an Israeli delegation led by the logistics company Maman Group will leave for Abu Dhabi, visiting the Emirates capital, and will be on the first flight of an UAE flight back to Israel.
