(ANSA) - MILAN, 18 OCT - "Dear friends, I inform you that I have a positive result at Covid and therefore tomorrow I will not sing at the last Aida concert at La Scala": the tenor Francesco Meli, engaged in the role of Radames in the opera, writes it on facebook in concert form on stage at the Piermarini.
"I reassure you all, I am asymptomatic and I feel good - he adds - I will spend the quarantine in my house in Genoa, strictly following the health protocols. I will keep you updated, confident - concludes the forty year old tenor - to go back to singing very soon".
Tomorrow, for the last performance of Aida, the tenor JonasKaufmann will play the part of Radames.
A luxury replacement, favored by the fact that the Austrian tenor is already engaged on Thursday at La Scala in a recital.
To his availability the thanks of the theater and to Meli the best wishes for a "quick convalescence".
All the people who worked with Meli in Aida underwent the swab and tested negative for the virus.
