A new study, conducted over six months and examining the possibility of corona infection in flight, found that the chances of this happening are very low.

According to a study conducted by the U.S. military, which conducted 300 tests over 38 hours of flight and 45 hours of ground time, only 0.003% of air particles make their way from one passenger to another in the same environment - even if it is sitting in a nearby seat.

About 99.99% of the particles are filtered out of the passenger compartment using a high-speed air filtration system, which is present in most of the new aircraft of most major airlines.

The study was conducted on the Boeing 767 and 777 aircraft of the American company United.

As can be seen in the video above, the study was done using “breathing” dolls and special receptors, installed at fixed distances from them.

Puppet breathing was adapted to normal human breathing, allowing researchers to project the results onto real passengers.

The study joins a long line of studies that have found that the chance of getting infected on a flight, especially when passengers have undergone corona tests and worn masks during it, is very low.

Tommy Anquist, CEO of United Customers, said: “Since the outbreak, the health and safety of our customers and employees have been our top priority.

That is why we supported Western research by military and medical experts, who pointed out that the cabin of an airplane is one of the safest places in the world.

The results show that the steps taken by United - handling airflow and filtration systems, the obligation to wear masks and upgrade cleaning processes - mean that exposure to Corona on United planes is almost non-existent, even if the flight is full. "
