After Disney announced it would focus on streaming services, Amazon rushed to purchase movies like "Discover America 2" and "Borat 2" • And what is the only box office hit that will hit theaters in 2020?

Streaming wars are gaining momentum.

Just after the giant Disney Corporation announced that it would undertake a reorganization process that would focus on its relatively new streaming service, Disney Plus, Amazon announced the acquisition of the highly anticipated sequel "Discover America 2" from Fremont Studios for no less than $ 125 million.

The film, starring Eddie Murphy and Arsinio Hall, will hit the company's servers in December, joining another high-profile comedy, "Borat 2," starring Sasha Baron Cohen, which will be available on Amazon starting October 23.

Other major films acquired by Amazon in recent months include Regina King's historical drama "One Night in Miami," which garnered much acclaim when it was screened at various fall festivals, and the spy thriller "Without Remorse" based on Tom Clancy's book and starring Michael B.

Jordan.

This is after Disney announced last week that Pixar's new movie, "Soul", will follow the live action remake of "Mulan", and will be released directly to the streaming service Disney Plus.

Unlike "Mulan", service subscribers will not be charged an additional fee this time to watch the film (which will air at the end of December).

The premiere of "Soul" took place this week at the London Film Festival, and according to the rave reviews (which strongly claim that it is one of the best films to come out of the doors of the acclaimed animation studio) it seems that we will hear more about it during the Oscars season.

Pete Doctor ("Monsters Ltd.", "Upstairs") directed. Is Marvel Studios' "Black Widow" also on its way to Disney Plus instead of the cinemas? From day to day this seems more and more likely.

Right now, the only box office hit still. Slated to hit theaters in 2020 is "Wonder Woman 1984," scheduled to hit screens on December 25. All other major Hollywood movies, such as "Dune" and the James Bond film "No Time to Die," were all postponed to 2021.
