Saturday evening at 9 p.m., around fifteen police officers left the police station in the 11th arrondissement of Paris in the direction of the busiest streets of the Bastille district.
They are responsible for enforcing the additional health measures put in place under the curfew.
An effective measure since Friday at midnight, in Paris, its region and eight other metropolises, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for 4 to 6 weeks.
To carry out their mission and widen the perimeter of control, the police officers decide to separate into two groups.
One will walk up rue Ledru-Rollin while the other crew will patrol in vehicles.
"The purpose of the device is to check whether bars and restaurants are closed at 9 p.m. and whether people who are on public roads have a legal reason to be outside at this time", explains Commissioner Christophe Guénard, in going up rue Ledru-Rollin.
